One of the many things in life we take for granted is knowledge. How thankful I am God gave us that added bonus which no other creature on earth has. I say God because I can not believe we just happened by accident. All the other creatures learn by instinct and have enough knowledge to get the job done for which they were created. Humans have that special capability to learn and create new things. This is why we are not the same as other creatures. Along with this special knowledge we were given the responsibility to look after the other creatures and protect the environment the best way we can. Since the beginning of time man (including women) and animals (including all the other creatures) have evolved or adapted to their ever changing environment.

Because we only get to stick around for 70 to 80 years we have used our skill to pass this knowledge on to the next generation. This was first done by word of mouth then through the written word and now through the Internet. If it was not for this special learning skill that humans have we would still be living in caves or would not have progressed to where we are today.

With the creation of the computer the Internet evolved and opened a new age for rapid advancement of our education. Anyone over the age of 40 would have a collection of encyclopedias bought by our parents to help in our education. As we all know there is never an end to fresh knowledge so our parents would buy the next years volume as new things happened. With the birth of the Internet the encyclopedia salesman became an endangered species. Today they are extinct and those encyclopedia books sit around (if you still have them) and gather dust.

We have a new learning tool today that holds almost endless knowledge of things man has learned in the past and is updated with new knowledge daily.

The majority of the young generation already know about this free source of knowledge but there are a few dinosaurs out there that do not know about it.

The great thing about Wikipedia is anyone with new or additional knowledge can add to it. What a wonderful way of pooling all our knowledge into one place for future generations and all to learn.
