Work at Home - The dream of many, achieved by few.

Traffic Chaos or Work From Home

The constant rise in population in major cities adds to traffic chaos. Building new roads helps with this problem, but only seems to be a bandaid effect. When roads are under repair the problem gets worse. Many people and companies are turning to the cocoon office. This is where you conduct your normal office routine from home, being linked to the main office via the Internet. I was fortunate that I was able to do this for a few years, only traveling to the office about once a week for can’t be missed meetings.

To work from home or start a work at home business is one way to reduce the traffic chaos. For those who have no option but to fight the traffic I have a few suggestions that may help ease the frustration and reduce the stress level.

You can use this time in traffic as part of your education program. Many libraries carry books on tape or CD. I would listen to motivational tapes or novels on tape. If your local library does not supply motivational tapes or CD’s you can find them here:

As a rule I do not use the horn, it only ads to the frustration and serves no purpose. Showing courtesy to other drivers helps avoid stress and it helps others to do the same.

I try to remain calm when I encounter aggressive drivers; there is no substitute for patience.

If I have to use the cell phone to conduct business or other, a hands free system is a must and the law in many places.

Safe Driving until you can find a way to work from home.
